EDMONTON – NDP Leader Brian Mason called this morning for more wind-power generation, higher standards for automobiles and hard caps on greenhouse gas emissions to make Alberta a global environmental leader.
Mason said he would put “aggressive” greenhouse gas emission targets in place within a year, but would not say how strict they should be. Instead, he said the caps would be sorted out through consultations with the the oil and gas industry and environmentalists.
